THE AIM :- Of this section is to cover the history of the
1st Battalion Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment from its formation on the 9th June 1959 through to its
eventual amalgamation with the 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment in 1994.
Full details of all the Regiments postings, both operational and
otherwise will be included, together with Awards/Decorations, and
Regimental Customs. This
is not intended to be a replacement for the Regimental History 'Cold
War Warriors' but to compliment it. Any
soldier who served in, or who was attached to this Battalion are invited
by the 'Farmersboys' Website team to contribute any information both
written or photographic they feel will assist |
